The song was inspired by by the death of my father in March 2026 while I was writing his eulogy and reflecting on his life and what I want my life to look like in the future. The chorus lyrics of this song are now tattooed on my left in her arm as a reminder of the day, I started following the echo and my soul to start doing music again.

I liked the steady rhythm section, the subtle guitar work and the space given to the vocal track. However, as I listened, the overall structure and arrangement strayed a bit from my current selection that leans more towards Indie Folk/Alternative Indie. That said, I'll have to pass for now. Thank you for sharing your art. Wishing you all the best with this release and your musical journey.

Hey Brian David, This is a lovely song for sure, though for a pop or a rock sub, I would have been looking for a more uptempo beat and a punchier sound design on the drums and instruments, leaning into more commanding vocals. This gentle vocal style and instrumentation is a little too relaxed and indie for my more saucy, commercial pop playlist needs, unfortunately. Similarly, the entire sound design walks the line as a soft rock track, much like U2. On future subs, consider sticking to a more uptempo beat and some stronger lead vocals, to be a better fit with us! For the music -VH

Really sorry for passing on this track at the moment. The audio quality of the track has a bit of graininess and within the context of my playlist, it didn't fully match the tone I'm trying to create.

Hi Brian David! Great music, I love your lyrics and the instrumental is simple but really effective in getting the emotion out. Unfortunately, I will be declining your track because the quality of the mix didn't meet my standards. Needs more body and it kind of sounds a bit fuzzy. Maybe a little more taming on the highs will do the trick. Sorry for the decline.

I enjoyed giving this a listen, but it leans a little too far into pop for the direction I'm curating with my playlist. I won't be adding this to my playlist this time, but thanks for sharing your music, and I hope to hear from you again soon!

Hey Brian David, ''The Echo in Your Soul'' has meaningful lyrics that radiate a lot of personality and power. The way you describe everything impresses. The chorus is very impressive too. Technically, there are still a few things you could improve. The mastering doesn't feel crisp enough. Aside from that, the mixing isn't at the right level yet. Work on these aspects and your music will be perfect. I wish you lots of success. Definitely keep up the good work. Cheers!

The song's narrative was quite interesting and the song's lyrics go descriptive as well that it's easy to follow the story. However, the song's four on the floor beat sets a different listening experience closer to pop. At the moment, I'll be declining the song.

The track unfolds with a nice acoustic guitar followed by mellow electronic drums that gives further energy, as well as provide support for the melody. While this track was definitely done well, the song's style pulls the direction of my space elsewhere outside indie. So for now, I'll be letting go of the song.

beautiful song I really like the message I also like the natural singing voice but what I also fear is that the groove and the instrumentals sound a bit compressed and even harsh at times and the vocals sound a bit too much separated from the instrumentals. there are also some sidechain effects that I can hear that make the song sound to build less refined to my ears. and general what I also miss is a chord progression that sounds a bit more interesting and a bit more modern with the dynamic arc that is a bit wider. It's still a beautiful song and message and I'm sending my best wishes

Hello there and thank you for sharing your music! A nice and clean, soothing tune. good work on the production! The lyrics are also pretty relatable and you have a great voice! The overall pace is a bit too slow for me though as I am currently looking for more energetic singing right from the start, for audience retention. This is just my personal taste and opinion at the moment of course. All the best and good luck finding your audience!

Your vocal performance is outstanding—polished, compelling, and highly competitive. Combined with the excellent instrumentation and rich harmonic arrangement, it creates a captivating atmosphere filled with warmth, sensitivity, and genuine musicality. However, my current curation is focused on tracks with a much stronger sense of energy, movement, and dynamic drive. For that reason, I’ve decided to pass on this opportunity. I truly appreciate you sharing your work and wish you every success moving forward.

Hey there! To start with, I'm quite captivated with the overall atmosphere of this tune. Guitar sits so well in the centre of the mix. Glues everything together. Simple percussion only reinforces that melancholy. Unfortunately, the vocal performance did not resonate enough with me. I'm really sorry. Your music is a wonderful piece of art - thank you for the submission!

Hi Brian David! The intro feels so emotional and the soft thump in the kick adds a captivating and inspiring mood in this arrangement. I’m enjoying the rhythmic chorus section that sounded so captivating. Unfortunately though I will decline based on the bright vocal mix with sibilance. I’d like a balanced warmth and clarity in the vocals with the harsh tones like the sibilance removed. I want you to know that you’re talented and your voice is truly soothing to listen to. Looking forward to your next releases!

Bom trabalho!

Hey Brian, loving the vocal performance on this track! Overall, the arrangement is already great with movements in the section that make good sense. Unfortunately, the track just leans a bit too much on a pop styled production with all the synths and electronic instruments that doesn't fit the more acoustic guitar driven production style of the cozy playlist that this track is closest to in mood. I'll have to decline for now because of this difference in production style

Hello Brian, thanks for sharing this with me. Knowing the story behind the song gives it a lot of meaning, and I can hear how personal it is. The vocal feels sincere, and the songwriting carries that emotion really well. It’s not quite right for my playlist, though. I’m looking for more alternative indie with a hazy, slightly lo-fi or neo-psychedelic character, closer to Men I Trust or Mac DeMarco, while this has a more traditional acoustic singer-songwriter sound. I’m sorry. Thank you for sharing something so personal, and I wish you all the best with the release. Kind regards, Domas

Hey Brian David, I think the vocal performance was powerful and I was drawn to the richness of your voice but where the song didn't convince me was the quality of the instrumental. The audio sounds very muffled, grainy, and overall just lacking in quality. I'm sorry to pass for now.

From its very beginning, the song possesses an intense depth with a soft, clear, and melancholic melody. Its instrumentation is perfectly suited to the theme, with subtle percussion and synthesizer touches accompanying the melody. The simultaneously raspy and melodic vocals lend a warm character to the song's concept. As the instrumentation subsides, the lead and backing vocals take center stage, enhancing the listener's appreciation and proving to be a very effective element. For the time being, it won't be added to our playlist as we're looking for slightly different melodies, but we acknowledge the excellent work and overall sound. Best regards!

Hey there, Brian - thanks for the submission. This heartfelt track has a warm sound, and an intimate atmosphere. I thought the production was really good (perhaps the ducking compression in a little too noticeable, but overall very good sound). The vocal has a workmanlike character - for me the vocal was slightly too loud in the mix though. especially in the breakdown. Melodically, I thought it was fine, but I didn't hear enough that surprised me or made me want to hear it again and again. I was waiting for the killer hook, but it never came. Overall, a solid track, but not stand-out enough for the playlist I'm afraid. Good luck with it

Impressive songwriting in this track! However, I felt that the vocals had a bit too much processing in the mix for my taste. Apologies but I will have to decline this submission.

Hey, Nice bassline and smooth vocal. This one however feels a bit too digital and strong for my list. I prefer more slow paced guitar songs, more a style like Charlotte Day Wilson. Just my personal preference of course. Totally fine if this was the vibe you were going for. Good luck with your release! Jens

Hey there! We enjoy that voice rhythm with instruments in your song. However the overall tempo is a little slow and relaxing for us personally, which doesn't fit much stronger and energetic/upbeat side of our 'rock legends' playlist. And we usually place dreamy and fast songs with more influence from electronic elements (kinda in style of tame impala) in our "electronic rock/indie" one, where your song isn't quite a great match for this time, sorry 🙏

your vocals such a distinct and radio friendly tone, love that the entire production is centered around it. it’s a super clever track really but i just kinda wish the choruses would open up even more as i felt that the lead up from the verses was already dynamically strong

Thanks for your submission. Nice slow 4 to floor groove. So nice and back in the pocket. Great vocal, too. In saying that, I fell this is a little too conventional sounding for my playlists. I'm after something a little more alternative with both the sound and song writing. Thanks and good luck with the release.

Dear Brian, thank you very much for sharing your music with us! "The Echo in Your Soul" features nice melodies and great production, your work is polished and well-crafted. However, the sound, vibe, energy, and specific sub-genre aren’t quite what we feature on our playlists. Your song sounds a little too "commercial" for our current playlists. This is not about the quality, which is high, but rather the stylisic fit. Thanks for sharing your music, and keep up the great work!

Thank you for sending your track. I think the song has a structure that works very well. The rhythmic side gives the track a lot of identity, keeping it dynamic and engaging from beginning to end. The area where I feel there is the most room to grow is the vocal performance. At certain moments, the voice could follow the melody more closely, allowing it to blend more naturally with the rhythm. Because of that, the vocal can occasionally feel a little left behind, losing some of the presence and impact it could have within the mix. For future releases, I would suggest giving a bit more attention to how the vocal melody interacts with the instrumental. Small adjustments in phrasing, timing, and melodic direction could help the voice feel more supported, creating stronger synergy with the beat while allowing the performance to stand out with greater confidence. Of course, this is only my opinion. Wishing you the best with your release, and I hope we can connect again in another opportunity.

Hey Brian, thank you for sharing your song! I think that the drum beat was really good, there are some really cool parts in the song that I've really enjoyed, well done with the overall feel that you have came up with. I think that you have some really interesting ideas in your song, well done with the feel that you have went for, but for me personally the song was just not as catchy unfortunately this time. I think that there could have been a bit more themes throughout the song instrumentally, to elevate the song. I think that you are a good vocalist, but the chorus was just a bit too simple for me, the "soul, soul, soul" part. I have to decline your submission this time, I'm sorry. Good luck with your submission!

Thanks for your submission, David. I love the muted upright piano used in the verse. However, the reason why I am passing is that I'm not interested in productions with kick drum on each beat for my indie playlist. Of course, this is just my opinion.

Hi, Brian David! Thanks for sharing. The beginning of your song captivates the listener with its soulful vocals and a slight hoarseness that adds a special charm to the sound. Every word the singer utters penetrates the listener’s heart, creating a spiritual atmosphere. Your song is an interesting musical experience, but unfortunately, stylistically, it doesn’t fit my niche playlist. I hope you understand. Cheers!

The melodic writing is strong and emotionally grounded. I appreciated how naturally the song flows and how cohesive the musical ideas feel. There’s a sincerity in the songwriting that stands out. Personally though, the vocal tone felt slightly too processed for me. That’s just my personal opinion and I completely respect your creative choices. Wishing you the best!
