Thanks for sharing this. I really enjoyed the creativity and the way you approached the track. The main reason I’m declining is that the song’s progression feels a little too predictable for the playlist, especially in how the sections develop. Still, there’s a lot to appreciate here, so keep building on your sound.

Hi Baldy Crawlers! Thanks for trusting me with your lovely track. The soothing piano melodies and gentle percussions caught my attention in this beautiful arrangement. I’m truly sorry to decline this track because as much as I loved the smooth melodic arrangement, I noticed the vocals felt a bit flat at certain times. To be honest, I’m looking for tracks where the vocals align with the melody. Wishing you all the best!

Hey! Thanks for listening and I'm glad you like the track. I may know where you're talking about regarding the vocals, and having grown up in the Blues I don't have any problem with using tension and release in vocal delivery, which is why I love Norrell Thompson's work so much. I first learned of her in the LA Latin jazz circles she's a veteran of. Seriously, I wouldn't change a note or moment of her performance for anything. And... I would *much* rather have an honest opinion! so thank you!

Amazing submission, I really liked the overall atmosphere of the record, and your confident delivery adds the right amount of energy without taking away from the musical side of the track.

Thanks for your submission. I can appreciate the sweet song writing and the raw instrumentation. The vocal has a nice tone as well. In saying that, I wasn't totally sold on the final mix and production. It feels a little busy at times with some of those percussion elements and the final mix doesn't feel quite glued together in that way that I'm personally looking for. Just an opinion. Thanks and good luck with the release.

Hi,   Nice guitar riff. It works together well with your vocal! For my playlist this song is however too upbeat. I am searching for slow guitar songs with a lot of instrumental parts and less focus on the vocal. Wish you all the best with your release! Cheers, Jens

Hi Baldy Crawlers, I think you have such powerful vocals, and your live instrumental recording is very well produced, nice job on the production value here. However, for a song with soulful influence such as this, I'm really looking for darker, moodier chords and samples, not so much the Latin and/or upbeat instruments and grooves that you have here. Based on just that alone, this track is not a great fit for my playlist. I think you have a lot of talent, and I would love to hear a moodier and slower soulful submission next time around, to be a closer consideration for placement with us

Oh I've got dark and moody if that's what you're looking for ;-) Check out On Those Who Starve Children or Hatred? if you want. Next time... Meanwhile thank you for the listen and your kind words! We're definitely a push-back against AI and artificial sounds so you won't hear a lot of samples from us. All human all the time :-)

The artistic direction here caught my attention quite quickly. There’s a clear sense of style in the production, and the overall atmosphere feels natural rather than forced, which gives the track a strong base to build from. The main thing I’d pay more attention to is the vocal presence in the mix. In this version, the voice feels slightly too restrained compared with the rest of the production, so some of its personality and impact get lost. Bringing it a little further forward, adding more definition around the key sections, or letting the rhythm open up when the vocals need to lead could help the performance feel much more expressive. I also think that stronger vocal presence could reinforce the artist’s identity, because the voice already has character, it just needs a little more space to become one of the main elements people remember from the track. That balance in the mix is the main point that kept me from connecting enough to add the song this time. I hope the note is useful for future releases, and I’m wishing you the best with this one. Hopefully we can connect with another track down the line.

Hey Daniel. I appreciate the time you took to give us your thoughts. We had done a few mixes of the song before settling on this one. It wasn't an easy choice, but it came down to wanting as much of a live and spontaneous feel as possible. The mix that almost made the cut was tighter and more disciplined and did give more space around the vocals. It sounded great, but less alive... more processed. In the end I trust Norrell's performance to carry it. All human, all the time :-)

Beautiufl song idea and great vocal skills and tone but to my ears and lists the vibrato also sounds a bi ttoo strong at times to me. Also the vocals sound a bit too quiet at parts inside the mix to my ears. I also miss ab it more edge. The other instruments feel a bit like there is no prioritization and eeryone just jams with one another. I miss a bit more structure and musical and arrangement wise hirachy in that sense. Still beautiful guitar solo and playing in general of everyone involved. Best wishes

Good day and thank you for sharing your song! A nice and clean tune, good work on the production. I like your natural vocal as well but the pace of the song is a bit too slow for me. I personally prefer more energetic singing right from the start. All the best, R

the song drips a ton of hazy summery vibes, vocals are so very endearing and radio friendly. it's a personal preference kinda thing but i just kinda wish the song introduced a wider range of dynamics, perhaps something with a bigger release

Bom trabalho!

I enjoyed some elements of the track, but the tonal balance felt a little uneven, which affected how smoothly the different parts came together. The groove also didn’t feel consistent enough for the playlist, and some of the transitions between sections felt slightly abrupt. Because of these details, the track doesn’t quite fit the flow I’m aiming for on my playlist at the moment.

Hola. Saludos cordiales!

While I like the instrumentation of the track, I find that the vocals don't cut through the mix enough for me. Apologies but I must decline this submission.

There’s a really strong atmosphere in this, and I like how confidently it commits to its mood :) It just feels a little darker and heavier than the space I’m trying to create with the playlist right now. Bringing in a touch more light through the melody, textures, or overall arrangement could give it a bit more lift. Keep exploring that moody side of your sound, it gives the track plenty of character <3

I really like the character in the vocals here, but the overall sound leans a little more vintage than what I’m looking for right now. I also found the vocal tone slightly sharp in places, so smoothing that out could make the performance feel warmer and easier on the ear. There’s a lovely quality to the track though, and I’d be curious to hear where you take this sound next.

this is the first platform where I *knew* that people were listening before they added the song. That's worth a lot to me! In that kind of environment I fully expect to get more declines than adds. And from many of the responses one can tell that these are sophisticated ears. I'm betting there are some producers/songwriters/musicians among them. Still, some of them, whether from just the communication or other factors, seemed to try awfully hard to find a reason to say no. And there were of course some conflicting opinions. Some are, to any reader, more valuable than others. But I appreciate *everyone's* input. I'll be back :-)

one more note.. we are very consciously making the decision to go as organic and human as we can. In some ways it makes our arrangements dated... either old school... or *new* school depending on how much push back against AI you're in to. I like much of the new stuff coming out, but in all honesty I can't tell whether some of it is human or AI. So in future we'll be aiming a tighter focus on those who want *organic* sounds.
