For listeners who miss when hip-hop had soul, substance, and something to say. “Raised On This” is a gritty, soulful love letter to hip-hop culture from Queens, NY emcee Maine The Medicine, presented by Rose & Vinyl Music Group. Driven by hard-hitting boom-bap production, authentic storytelling, and golden-era energy, this record captures the spirit of the culture while delivering a fresh sound for today's underground hip-hop audience. If your playlist features Nas, Gang Starr, Joey Bada$$, or authentic East Coast lyricism, “Raised On This” belongs in the rotation. Ideal Playlists: Underground Hip-Hop, Boom Bap, Real Hip-Hop, Conscious Rap, East Coast Hip-Hop, and Lyrical Rap.

Hello there! I quite enjoyed the old-school Hip-hop sound of the drums as it contrasts really well with the glassy sound of the synths in the production. This will be a great addition to my playlist. Thank you!

Impressive songwriting in this track and syncopated rhythm of the flow as you still managed to stay within the pocket of the rhythm arrangement! I will be adding this to my curation. Thank you!

Digging the flow. Will add to my hip hop list. Wish you all the best with your release! Cheers, Jens
Hey Maine the Medicine. Loving the progression and atmosphere on this track. Awesome mood with the flow in progression. Great chords and I'm loving that piano melody/riff. However I'm just noticing an odd unclear quality on the raps. The performance is already great, tight raps with dynamic movement. However there's something very muffled about the mix of the raps. The muffled effect might just be a bit overdone as it starts to get unclear on the high frequencies and is a bit to wide in dynamics. I do think that if the clarity on the raps were looked into a bit more, this track would really shine so I'll decline for now

What really stayed with me the most? It's the song's lyricism gripped me and your vocal persona reeled me in immediately. I'd like to feature this in my Hiphop Haze Playlist!
