Slow and Steady is a high-energy rock song about never giving up. When life hits hard, don’t quit. Dig in, move forward, slow and steady, and show the world what’s inside of you. It's light, it's fun, and is a great track to get you revved up before heading out.

Greta energy in track and vocals, I like the slightly funky guitar groove and the grit in the voice, as well the way the drums emphazises the stronger lines. For my lists and taste though the chord progression sounds a bit too repetitive and the mix and master a bit too cold. i also focus more on darker rock related tracks in my lists. Still greta work! Best wishes - dominik

Hey there Mama No Likey - thanks for the submission. Your track has a nice, raw sound. I though the vocal was really good, with lots of character and a nice raspy tone. The production is good too and the track is put together well. However, I thought the melody & chord progressions were too generic if I'm being totally honest. The guitar patterns too felt a little dated and weren't memorable or unique imo (sorry if that sounds harsh - it's only my opinion of course!). I think there is vocal talent and production skills here, but the song itself didn't do enough that stood out from the crowd and made me want to listen again and again. So, I'm going to pass on this one I'm afraid. Good luck with the track.

Hi there, thank you for sharing your song! I think that the overall feel was pretty cool, I've really enjoyed the electric guitar groove, and the bass guitar sounded really fat and heavy which I've loved, nice job with that. For me personally the songs vocal was also pretty cool, but there could have been a bit more focus on the chorus vocal melody to make it a bit catchier. You are a really good singer despite this but, Unfortunately I have to decline your submission this time, I'm sorry. Good luck with your submission!

English translation · from Portuguese

Analyzing technically in terms of music production, we observe that in your recording and in the adjustment of volume and compression, both demonstrate that their sonic characteristics are preserved, although the compression helps to maintain a smaller perceptible difference to the human ear. Regarding the chord and melodic progressions, I note that at your level of development it is very close to professional, having details that require the acquisition of musical skill on each specific instrument, for example guitar, bass, and drums. Regarding your voice, we can note that your tuning is up to date, practically with a low level of autotune application, without much displacement or robotic quality, maintaining a human timbre characteristic. Your electric bass has good presence in the low end, including some of its percussive elements like kick and toms. Normally I like songs with a faster tempo. Therefore, for selective reasons, I will reject this song. Good work!

Show original

Bom trabalho!

Hi! Thanks for sending your track. I think the song maintains a nice atmosphere throughout the mix, and the structure feels solid, giving the vocal a good space to develop. That said, while the vocal has a pleasant style and a good touch, I felt it wasn’t always fully in sync with the rhythm. At times, it comes across a bit repetitive, which makes it lose some presence and misses the chance to land a catchier phrase that listeners can engage with. I think it could really help to focus on tighter rhythmic alignment and build a more memorable hook that stands out within the track. But as you know, this is just a suggestion. Wishing you the best, and I hope we can connect again in another opportunity.

Thank you for your submission and for trusting us. The track has a strong background melody and rhythm, with an engaging opening and a guitar that stands out. However, we feel that the low-intensity, vocal-free sections in the middle can distract from the initial momentum. Refining those passages could improve the overall flow. We appreciate your work and look forward to hearing your future submissions.

Hi, Mama No Likey! Thanks for sharing. This is a great composition that would be perfect for road trips and radio play. I especially want to highlight the vocals—they’re multilayered and charismatic. The verses sound emotional, and the chorus is explosive, keeping the listener in suspense until the very end. The bass chords at 1:35 emphasize the depth of the melody and the dynamic sound. Your song is amazing, but I think it's not aggressive enough for my niche playlist. Best of luck!

Hi Mama No Likey! Thanks for trusting me with your lovely track. The catchy melodies and funky guitar strums sound so exquisite in this arrangement. Though, I’m truly sorry to decline this track because the overall mix felt a bit scattered, which doesn’t match the mood in my playlist. I’m actually aiming to add tracks where the instrumentation have a well-balanced mix and sound cohesive. Wishing you all the best!

despite having so much going on on here the song remains super cohesive, vocals are so edgy and radio friendly. this is totally based off of the aesthetics of my playlists but for the most part the song is leaning a tad bit too heavily on the aggressive end for it to be a perfect fit, i’m sorry

Thanks for your submission. I can appreciate the raw energy of this track. Especially that passionate vocal performance. For me, this track is a little too rock and roll for my playlists. I'm looking for something a little more alternative sounding. Just a personal taste thing. Thanks and good luck with the release.

Hey Mama, No Likey, I'm into the focus and steady drive in this track, your vocals sit nicely and carry intent. It's a solid listen but it’s not quite the right fit for this playlist for now, sorry.

Hey Mama No Likey, I love the guitar tone used and the guitar melody was a vibe! I also appreciate how well written the song is. The song overall captured the vibe my playlist is going for and that's why I'm happy to say that I'll be adding this to my Open Road Energy playlist. Thanks for the share and keep it up! :)

Hi and thank you for sharing your song with me! For this playlist I am mainly looking for soft and ethereal indie and dream pop with a distinct modern feel to it. Unfortunately I feel your song is not a match for this editorial line as it is overall to harsh and too high energy to blend in well. I wish you all the best, but this playlist is not a match for your song. Thanks!

Hi,   A confident vocal and good sounding bassline in this one. Really well-made production. This song is however too upbeat and feels too energetic for the slow and mellow guitar vibe I am going for. Especially the heavy snare and distorted guitars don't fit. Wish you all the best with your release! Cheers, Jens

Thank you for the submission! The track has a really cool energetic chorus and great production. It didn’t feel like a great fit for our playlists as we are on the lookout for something darker and more melancholic!

Hi! Thanks for the submission! This is one really cool tune with great energy and engaging, expressive sound. I definitely like it but for my playlists I focus on a more classic blues / blues-rock style with a bit darker tone and mood. Keep it up!

A great start with well-crafted guitars, providing energy and power from the beginning, reflecting dedication and high-quality production. The structure is very well developed, allowing each section to flow coherently and maintain interest throughout the song. The atmosphere is captivating and pleasant, with a solid sound that envelops and shows clear artistic potential. However, I do not perceive in the style the frantic dynamic I am looking for in my playlist at this stage. You are a very talented artist with a promising path; I really appreciate you sharing your music with me. I wish you all the best. See you soon.

I find the instrumental tracks to be tight, smooth vocal delivery throughout. It's a solid track but I tend to gravitate towards songs with a much edgier arrangement but that's just because of my own musical taste

This one has a bit of a garage band feel that doesn’t quite line up with my taste for the playlist, so it’s not a match right now. Maybe polishing the production and tightening the overall sound could help it land better. Thanks for sending this through, feel free to share another.

Thanks for your submission. I like the driving grooves, anthemic choruses and crisp production in this song. However, I'm looking for more aggressive hard rock and metal tunes for my playlist, while this song has more of an alt-rock/roots rock sound to me. I'm going to pass on this one, but I appreciate you sharing. Best of luck!

Thanks for your submission, Mama No Likey. It's an interesting rock production. I enjoy the chours at 0:30. However, the reason why I am declining is that I'm interested in more edgy and contemporary Indie Rock productions and not in classic rock ones. Keep in mind this is just my opinion. That said, I wish you good luck with your release and I hope to hear more music from you.

Nice work, Mama No Likey. The hook really locks in and that steady groove pulls the track forward, so I’m adding it to the Modern and classic rock playlist. Keep sending stuff that rides that momentum.

Nice groove here, the pocket really holds the song together and gives it that patient drive I want on the garage rock vibes list. I’ll add it, and I’d love to hear what you do next.

Nice feel but the track’s overall roughness leans a little raw for the playlist’s smoother classic and soft rock mood. Your vocal tone really sells the grit though, it’s got character. Sorry, I’m declining this time.

Hey Mama, No Likey, the arrangement sometimes feels a touch crowded which blunts the main motif, but the chorus hook really sticks and has real singalong potential. I'm going to decline this one for the playlist for now.

Hey Mama No Likey! Awesome name by the way :-) Thanks for sending Slow and Steady my way. This sounds like a recording of a live performance rather than a studio track, and I mean that in the best way - you captured that organic energy without compromising quality at all. The grittiness to your voice is really powerful. Reminds me a little bit of Heart. My Existential Field Trip playlist is a bit more dream/cinematic rock where this is more straightforward, down-the-middle alt rock. I'm working on a dedicated alternative rock playlist where this would fit much better. It's only ~50 saves away from being eligible on here, but I'll go ahead and add it anyway for a bit once you release it :-) Followed you on IG for now, please message me once you have a release date and I'll see how I can help! -John
