Clocking in at two minutes, Distance is a jangly indie-pop hit in miniature - a flash of chiming guitars and pure, heart on sleeve emotion. Distance taps into the rush of young love and the feeling of getting lost in someone. Bright, catchy and heartfelt, it's an ear mint of a song - built around guitar lines that channel the golden glow of early Ride and C86 indie-pop.

Hello! Thank you very much for submitting your track, we trully appreciate that. "The Distance" has a strong foundation for a good indie rock track in general. The instrumental performance is engaging. We personally weren't 100% convinced by the vocal melodies and vocal performance, sorry. Of course, this is just our personal opinion and taste. Keep creating and thanks again for your submission!
Hey there The Danphes - thanks for the submission. Your track has a real throwback vibe and some Cure-esque guitar sounds. I thought it was light and bounced along nicely. For me, the vocal didn;t gel that well in the track, it sort of sat on top of the mix and I didn't really engage with the expression or tone of the vocal (sorry!). Melodically, I have to be 100% honest and say that I didn't think it was that memorable or interesting. I look for tracks that really stand out to me and have something edgy or surprising. So, I'm going to pass on this one I'm afraid. Good luck with it.
Hi The Danphes, thank you for sharing! I think the melody during the chorus was quite catchy and the ear candy moments were pretty amazing adds as it made it quite refreshing and catchy to hear. However, I'm sorry to say that I find the transition from the intro to the first vocal section to be a bit too abrupt. So for this reason, I'll have to decline this for now. This is just my opinion and is meant to help. Have a nice day! :)

Loved this honestly, the vibe felt really effortless and everything came together in a way that instantly clicked for me. Definitely adding this to my playlist, such a smooth and memorable listen from start to finish. Really excited to hear more of what you make.

Hello! We really enjoy the production and awesome guitar layering throughout. However it feels a bit chill with those guitars and somewhat nostalgic & romantic with your voice, which doesn't really fit stronger and upbeat/engaging rock sound that we curate in our "rock legends" playlist 🙏

Hey The Danphes, great sounding atmosphere on this track and a very close production style as well. However, I really did feel that the arrangement on the track just feels a bit too much on a loop against the more dynamic arrangements on the playlist. It's also slightly sounding a bit too thin. I'll have to decline for now because of the difference in mix/tone, but I'm hearing a good arrangement on this, it's a very close fit for the playlist
So, I just listened to your music and we noted that in the secondary melodies you use active countermelodies to maintain constant phrases and to give meaningful expressions to those phrases. I find this style cool because the beat already complements the interplay of short and long hi-hats. Regarding instruments and vocals, I notice that the relative volume levels are good. Your voice shows good tuning and timing throughout the track. Your sound has excellent technical quality in the music production. Since your release is still a month away, we can’t be sure whether we will share it or not. In any case, we will decline this song. Good work!

Bom trabalho!
Hello The Danphes, thanks for your submission. Really nice track — the jangly guitars, catchy melodies and upbeat energy give it a charming nostalgic indie feel. The songwriting is strong and the whole piece has a warm, youthful atmosphere that comes across naturally. However, the overall direction feels a bit more straightforward indie pop. I usually go for tracks with a more psychedelic and textured feel, where the production plays a bigger role in shaping the atmosphere, so I’ll skip this one. I’m sorry. Besides that it’s a really lovely song, so wishing you all the best with the release. Keep creating! Domas
the song drips a ton of summery vibes, vocals are made for the radio. this is totally based off of the aesthetics of my playlists but the mix is leaning a tad bit too heavily on the raw end for it to be a perfect fit, i’m sorry

Thanks for your submission. Love the song writing. Production is great as well. I'll add this to my Velvet Indie playlist! Thanks and look forward to hearing more.
Hi The Danphes! I will be declining your track because the quality of the mix didn't meet my standards. Even though, you have a complete set of instruments playing, I feel like it just lacks body and clarity. For example, it's a little hard to hear the kick and bass when everything else is playing. The vocal is a little too quiet in my opinion. Lastly, I feel like the guitars sound a little too hollow. I feel like there's nothing going on in the mid frequencies of your mix (300hz - 800hz) and the guitars could occupy that space for more fullness. The songwriting is pretty good, I think it just needs more refining.

Hey Danphes! Thanks for sending Distance my way. Loved the dreamy production on this - it gives the track a lot of good atmosphere. Reminde me a bit of Turnover. I'm adding this to my Existential Field Trip playlist. Followed you on IG and look forward to hearing more! :-) -John
This track's got such a catchy melody and the vocal performance was really captivating. That aside, the drum arrangement, while executed well, was a little too active for my playlist. So for now, it's gonna be a no for me.
Cool ascending bass line in the intro, with the band entering at 0:14. However, I'm declining because once the band enters the production feels flat with the same energy, and I wished more dynamic. Of course, this is just my opinion.
Hi, A confident vocal and good sounding groove in this one. Really well-made production. This song is however too upbeat and feels too energetic for the slow and mellow guitar vibe I am going for. More a style like Charlotte Day Wilson. Wish you all the best with your release! Cheers, Jens
Feels really atmospheric and has a cool driven and upbeat vibe. Even so, I just feel that the song's sort of gritty for my playlist. Thus, I have to decline the song.
Hi Danphes, thank you for sending your track our way. We loved the track's bass line and how it started off, however, we feel the track does not align with the vocal style of the playlist. We will sadly have to skip this one. Keep making more music :)
Hi! Thanks for sending your track. The song has a certain charm in the chorus, and I think that section works quite well. It helps land the vibe of the track and gives the song a clear moment that listeners can follow. The voice fits the song, but it could use more distinctive traits to stand out more clearly. At times, it feels a bit hidden in the mix, which makes it harder for the performance to fully shine. A good direction could be to work on a stronger phrasing, or small details like ad-libs or melodic variations that make the voice feel more personal and become a more outstanding element in the track. That could help the track gain more character and connect better with listeners. Thanks again for sharing your music. Wishing you lots of luck, and I hope we can connect again in another opportunity.
