Written in L.A., Brightstar was inspired by the dreamers that we've met throughout the city - the countless number of artists that come out to L.A. to chase something bigger than themselves. We want them all to know that their energy, passion, and spirit will always shine brightly whether they "made it" or not. In the chorus, we tell them, "Brightstar, I know who you are." We see, support, and honor them. The song is about heart, identity, and knowing your self-worth beyond any notion of fame.

I loved the vocals. You have an incredible sound. The energy is magnetic. Would love to have you on my playlists !
Hi, A confident vocal and good sounding groove in this one. Really well-made production. This song is however too upbeat and feels too energetic for the slow and mellow guitar vibe I am going for. Especially distorted guitars don't fit our playlist mood. Wish you all the best with your release! Cheers, Jens
Hey there, Mama No Likey - thanks for the submission. Your track has a full sound - I liked the tone of the guitars. It has a certain throwback energy and a mix of classic and country pop-rock I would say. The vocal sits in the track nicely - although I thought it needed a bit more expressiveness and identifiable character. Melodically, I didn't hear enough that was really unique or memorable - things that would make this stand out from the crowd and make me want to hear it again and again. Overall, a pleasant track that's put together well - but it's not right for the playlist I'm afraid. Good luck with it.
Thanks for your submission. Love the raw nature of this. Has a great band sound and the vocals are very solid. Mix is top notch as well. For me, this is a little too rocky for my playlists. I feel like this is a little too safe with both the song and the overall production. I'm after something a little more alternative and edgy. Just a personal taste and opinion. Thanks and good luck with the release.

Hey Mama No Likey, this is such a catchy song with an impactful production and I think the vibe is perfect for my road trip playlist, much love!
Hi! Thanks for sending this tune. I really like its energy and your expressive vocals but for my playlists I focus on a bit darker in theme, bluesy tracks. Keep it up!

Hey Mama No Likey, there's a nice driving energy on this production. The overall energetic performance and sound makes the track fit the playlist. I'll be adding this, thanks!
Brightstar is an upcoming release where its greatest strength is the vocal section. I like its charismatic performance, with potential. The theme is fun and keeps the listener's interest from start to finish, thanks to a well-written concept. However, although it is well produced, it differs from the more danceable style I’m looking for in the playlist. More twists and surprises are what I prioritize. So, after evaluating the proposal carefully, I feel it doesn’t quite align with the other songs I currently cover. More movement and less repetition would be better for me.
I liked the fun and bright mood the arrangement the track has. It was engaging and the mix highlighted the vocal track well. The elements were also balanced and made for an interesting listen. However, though enjoyable, the overall structure and feel strayed away from my current Indie Folk/Alternative Indie-leaning selection. That said, I'll have to pass for now. Thank you for sharing your art.
Bright Star delivers a motivational message along with a fun and danceable atmosphere. The voice is authentic and shows skill and passion for music; there's potential. However, I'm more into releases that are more consistent and hectic, with more strong guitar presence. In short, I don't think it's suitable for the rock playlist.
Cool funky rock guitar riff paired with a very compressed snare drum in the introcuction. However, I'm declining it because it is leaning towards an 80s sound which is not what I am looking for my indie rock roadtrip playlist. Of course, this is just my opinion.

The song features an easy-to-play melody and a harmonies that make it a pleasure to listen to. The vocals at times reminded us of Sheryl Crow and Alanis Morissette in the office, and the instrumentation is intense and vibrant without overshadowing the song's prominence. Its progression is steady and engaging, maintaining interest throughout. It's a very good track and will be added to our playlist. Best regards!

Hello! We really enjoy the production and awesome guitar layering in your song. We'll be definitely supporting it in our "rock legends" playlist 🙏
Hey, this song has good guitar work that I definitely think really catches fire around 0:45. The drum patterns could be just a bit more distinctive, in my opinion. You've got talent, so keep it up.

Hi Mama No Likey, pretty good job with the performance as it achieved the uplifting and energetic vibe I'm going for and the melodies on this one sounded pretty nostalgic. Happy to add this! Thanks! :)

Hey Mama! Nice to hear from you again. Last time you submitted my alt rock playlist was just a bit too small for a share but happy to report it's up and running and I'd be happy to share this. Thanks for giving me another shot, hope to hear from you again. -John
Really strong production here! Catchy chorus too but unfortunately it didn’t fit with the dark and dreamy sound of our playlists
Thanks for sending this over. I can hear the appeal and there's a lot to like here, but for my playlist the track leans a bit too heavily into pop territory. I'd love to hear more of the song's unique personality come through, as I think that could really help it stand out. Appreciate you sharing your music, and wishing you all the best with the release.
Great energy in teh track and vocals but for my lists and taste the guitar playing sounds also a bit too funky and basic from teh chord shapes choosen. Also the strumming pattern sounds a bit repetitive after some time. I really like the fact though that you change to a major chord in between. Also great energeticall bridge. Very powerful drums as well. The vocal choir and harmonization sounds also pretty cool. Please keep creating powerful art! Best wishes - Dominik

Hey there. I enjoyed rhe playful instrumentals and the catchy chorus. I think it will be a nice fit for my playlist. Welcome!
Pleasure is mine giving my thoughts on your song. Solid vocal performance and I especially liked the drum track here. It's gives the track variations and it sets the pulse consistently. That aside, I feel that the song's arrangment was a little aggressive for my playlist. So for now, I havet to say no.
Hey Mama No Likey! Thank you for your submission. Stellar job on crafting this song. We enjoyed the vocals throughout the track. However, in our opinion, the vocal layering felt a bit too raw and overdone. The instrumentation could’ve been utilised better to uplift the vocals a bit more. Sadly, this isn’t the vibe we’re curating for. We’re sorry, but we’ll have to decline

Hey again Mama No Likey, Thanks for the sub, this is great for a fit on Rockin Indie! Don't hesitate to resubmit this in 2 weeks for another placement with us. Feel free to shout us out on IG and we'll do the same for you!
hey folks! awesome feel you've created here but we are after something a little bit more aggressive for our playlists. this is just a bit bright and upbeat for us. great stuff though, ciao
I like the classic rock tone of the drums in the production! However, I feel that the track was too retro sounding for the more indie and alternative rock sound of my curation. Apologies but I must decline this submission.
love that you retained the rawness of the instrumental lines, vocals are totally made for the radio. it really is a super clever track but the only one thing that’s a teensy bit lacking for me is the catchiness factor on the melody, i’m sorry
The instrumentation is very well crafted, and overall the track showcases strong sound design supported by high-quality production. You have also succeeded in creating an atmosphere that conveys positive energy and an enjoyable listening experience. However, within the context of my current search, I feel the proposal follows a somewhat familiar path. Given the high volume of songs I evaluate and the level of selectiveness that comes with it, I am currently prioritizing tracks that offer a greater sense of originality, innovation, and surprise.

Hey, thank you so much for sharing your work here with us. I think the track manages to deliver a great atmosphere where the voice lands a pretty exciting performance. Good luck with your release and I hope we can connect again in a future opportunity.
Hi and thank you for sharing your song with me! For this playlist I am mainly looking for soft and ethereal indie and dream pop with a distinct modern feel to it. Unfortunately I feel your song is not a match for this editorial line as it is too much "rock" and too little "indie". Also I would have needed a much softer sound as you probably can imagine. I wish you all the best, but this playlist is not a match for your song. Thanks!
Hi there, thank you for sharing your song with me! I think that the overall feel was pretty nice, great job with the mood that you have created, there were a lot of nice feel in the song, that I've really enjoyed, the mood was pretty cool, very well done with the vocals, the background vocals worked really nicely also. I think that the song was really interesting, but for me the song was unfortunately not as memorable this time, I'm really sorry. Good luck with your submission!
Hi Mama No Likey! I’m sorry for declining this track because the mix of the bass felt a bit lacking in presence and the drums sounded a bit subdued in the mix. I’m aiming for a more balanced low end depth in the bass and a more potent drum mix with punchier kick.
